I have over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, including 13 years as Development and Production Director at a luxury fashion brand, where I served on the board and senior leadership team. This role provided invaluable expertise in product development, production, and strategic leadership, equipping me for a broader focus on corporate governance.

What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?

As this was my first board role, I was eager to learn more about the dynamics of being part of a board and the governance structures that support it. I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the key responsibilities and best practices in effective governance, which would, in turn, enhance my ability to support strategic decision-making aligned with business goals.

The Diploma in Corporate Governance provided me with a broad understanding of all areas within governance. It also offered valuable insights across different industries and equipped me with the tools to conduct assessments in various business contexts.

Can you describe any particular elements of the course that stood out to you or made a significant impact?

I found the chapters on finance, risk, and ESG particularly insightful. Given the increasing importance of ESG, I’m especially eager to explore this area further.

Completing this course has greatly enhanced my governance and ESG knowledge, providing a deeper understanding of strategic decision-making and risk management. It’s equipped me with the tools to contribute more effectively to board discussions and drive sustainable practices within a business.

The structure of the modules, along with the pre-reading and comprehensive information provided, was extremely insightful and thorough. I also found working with the cohort in breakout rooms valuable, as it allowed for meaningful discussions and the exchange of ideas.
