"The most beneficial part of the course for me was the depth of material referenced and available throughout the course. I've ended up feeling empowered to make a practical difference, as well as being much better informed."
Tell us about your professional experience before discovering the Corporate Governance Institute.*
As a professional learner, I’d had experience mostly of financial services qualifications, apart from one foray into science, related to a hobby.
What challenges or opportunities were you facing in your career or on your board before taking our course?
I was looking for a change of direction and motivation. Still only a minority of people are focussed on humanity’s key risks.
Why did you choose to study for the Diploma in Corporate Governance with us to help with these challenges/opportunities?
It was the only formal course I could find that was both broad enough in coverage and academically accredited.
Can you describe any particular elements of the course that stood out to you or made a significant impact?
I ended up feeling empowered to make a practical difference, as well as being much better informed.
How has completing this course influenced your career, leadership approach, or governance or ESG skills?
Completing the course has led me in the direction of a B Corp certified organisation – a business that meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. I’m now working in areas of the organisation which are having a positive outcome for the world.
What did you find most beneficial about studying with the Corporate Governance Institute?
The most beneficial part of the course for me was the depth of material referenced and available throughout the course.
