  7. Stay ahead of regulations. Monitor legal changes and adapt your practices accordingly.

I’m running a company but know nothing about AI; what do I do?

Firstly, don’t panic. You’re in the same boat as thousands of other corporate leaders. 

AI has existed in some form for decades, but many leaders only began engaging with it in the early 2020s when ChatGPT hit the news. We can’t expect all executives and board members to be experts in the short time since then.

Above all, stay engaged. Ask tough questions about how AI aligns with your organisation’s goals, and insist on clear, regular updates from your team or vendors. You don’t need to understand every technical detail, but you do need to lead with curiosity and strategic oversight. AI success starts with strong leadership at the top.
